International and National Recognition

The AITI qualification has official recognition under EU Directive 89/48 thus enabling holders, on meeting certain criteria, to practice not only in Ireland but also in other EU Member States. Holders of the AITI qualification have the statutory right to appear and represent clients before the Tax Appeal Commissioners in Ireland and at a rehearing before a Circuit Court Judge. The Institute is Ireland’s representative on Confederation Fiscale Europeene (click HERE for the CFE website) the European body for tax consultants on which the professional association of tax practitioners in each EU Member State is represented.
